3 Days!

I spent 3 days alone with Charlotte who is now almost 8 months old, while Melissa went inter-state for a work conference. Phew! My longest stint with her alone. It went well, she is so much fun!

We had a few outings during the 3 days to mix things up a little and not be so bored at home.

fun stuff

Charlotte has passed 5 months and is growing fast. She’s been experimenting with her squeels and talking. So cute!

Here’s a pic Melissa took with her iPhone:

Happy Bubba

Yeah yeah I know I haven’t blogged for ages, but well I get so carried away with hanging out with CJ (one of many of Charlotte’s nick names!) all day I forget about blogging.

CJ is now 19 weeks old. Can you believe it! Time just goes so fast. She has changed so much in that time, and grown. CJ is now wearing double zero clothes (already!).

I have done quite a bit of clothes shopping for her. Most of the stuff we were given (as hand me downs) were the wrong season (not much winter stuff, or at least that’s my justification for shopping so much). Doesn’t she look just adorable!

CJ is smiling all the time now, which is just so special (yeah I had a cry the first time she flashed me). And singing, well that’s what I call it. Babbling away to herself and anyone else that may appear to be listening. She babbled all around spotlight today. Quite entertaining to the old ladies in there buying their wool.

CJ is rolling onto her side all the time now. She gets almost all the way to her tummy, put isn’t sure what to do with her arm so gets stuck. She still isn’t a fan of tummy time, although she is starting to work on the knee bend with her butt jacked up in the air. She has no idea what to do with her arms but hey she will get there eventually.

CJ is starting to hold on to the bottle when we feed her. I have some handles that can be attached to the bottles and she loves to hang on and feed herself. I don’t think she realises yet that she is feeding herself, she lets go and the bottle falls out and she wonders why? hehehehe

Growing Pains

CJ is starting to teeth (we think) and has learned that if she can hold something it’s good enough to go in her mouth.

Charlotte goes to the pool

Another video which I recently put together whilst learning “Final Cut Express” on my Mac. I’m not that happy with the quality of the output, looks like more tweaking is required.

Anyway, here’s Charlotte and Melissa at the pool, fun stuff!

Tummy and Mummy Time

Here’s the first video shot with our new Canon HV30 HD camera. I’ve not read the manual yet so it’s just shot in full auto mode, imported to iMovie on my mac, exported using quicktime in 1280×720p.

Charlotte has some tummy and mummy time on the weekend!

All is well in the Mandy camp

Charlotte is just over 9 weeks old now, It’s amazing how fast time goes by. Before we know it she will be crawling around, talking, walking, etc.

She’s doing so well! Sleeping well during the nights and generally just being a great baby.

A couple of days ago we took her to the GP for her 8-week vaccination shots. boy did she scream, and boy did I feel awful for putting her through it! The GP said that she might get a fever or be restless for around 48 hours but she has been just great! Go the Mandy immune system!

We’ve been taking plenty of photo’s and must get them on the photo gallery soon!

growing much?

Charlotte is growing, and fast! already she’s growing out of her 0000 clothes, she’s not even a month old yet.

She’s quite tall too! long arms and legs, just like her daddy.

Anyway, here’s a handy must have (in my opinion)… a sling of some sort. We have a “Baby Bjorn” pouch which Charlotte and snuggle in, she loves it. It’s great for going to the shops, doing the clothes washing, gardening, or writing this post :) hand free baby swaddling!

Hello World!

On Tuesday the 11th March at 6:21pm, Charlotte Mandy came into our world weighing 8lbs 8oz or 3.8′ish kgs. Such a beautiful little girl.

When I saw her for the first time, I actually cried, I couldn’t believe that our little girl was here, it was just so amazing, words cannot describe the feeling.

Just a couple of days later, as I sit here writing this I feel my life has suddenly changed. I mean, I knew I was going to be a dad, and there have been occasions where the thought has really hit home. Like, discovering we were going to have a baby, then seeing her for the first time on an ultrasound, etc. But nothing hits home harder than seeing your baby for the first time!

I’m not going to write too much, I’ll let Melissa add to this when she’s ready. For now, here’s a little sneak peak of Charlotte only a few minutes old! (click for bigger)
